Hello and welcome! We’re a brand new indie label based in Liverpool, U.K.
We are here to produce and release great records. This is vital for the future of the music industry.
Loud Soul was formalised at the end of 2008 by ourselves; a group of close friends/family who had already been recording and producing material for a wide range of Liverpool bands and artists, aswell as designing their artwork and cd packaging - and so the forming of the label was a kind of natural progression of what we were already doing.
We feel we are unique in that we try to work very closely with our artists; we believe in developing, nurturing and supporting them (just like Motown records did) in order to bring out the best in them. For example - we don’t tend to clock-watch in our studio!
Why the name ‘Loud Soul’?
Because it fits the type of music we’re making; ie ‘soul - but played at volume’. Much of our current music is heavy/frenetic/frenzied - in yer face, yes - but also distinctly groovy and sophisticatedly tuneful. You can dance to it too.
So who’ve you got on the label?
Free Peace - one of the most exciting bands around at the moment - formed by Liverpool music legend Edgar Jones. They’ve already given some electric performances and, to the delight of many, appear to be taking up right where his psych/garage band The Stairs left off. Check them out live. They can’t half play.
Oh yeah - almost forgot to mention! -they’re supporting none other than OASIS on their ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ album European tour in February 2009
Who else have you got?
We’ve got Jacobi - also from Liverpool. They’ve got their own classic rock sound. Great songs, an outstanding singer and loads of raw talent. They’re currently working hard recording their debut e.p./album, due for release later on this year on Loud Soul.
So there you have it for now. That’s who we are and what we’re trying to do.
